She served the DocSIG Chair Elect (2012-2013) and Chair (2013-2014), during which time she planned and executed valuable networking events for doctoral students at the AMA Winter and Summer Marketing Educators’ Conferences, including:

  • What I Wish I Had Known as a Young Scholar” Pre-Conference Symposium (Winter AMA 2014)
  • Special Sessions
    • Discussion with the Conference Co-Chairs (Winter AMA 2014)
    • The Changing Landscape of the Marketing Academic Job Market (Summer AMA 2014)
  • Mentors’ Networking Breakfasts
  • Dinner Socials

She also played a key role in the development of DocSIG’s revamped website, in an effort to increase the availability of resources for doctoral students who are not in attendance at AMA conferences. Alexa was humbled to be recognized in May 2014 as AMA Volunteer of the Month for her efforts with the organization.
